Peace on Earth

I do not know the exact
time date or place
I do not know the reasons
or meanings or the case
All I remember
is that there was a day
A day that my innocence
was taken away

This is not a cliche
for drugs death or sex
No it is nothing
at all that complex
This is simply about
an awakening recognition
Of the actual state
of our world's condition

I used to think life
was all happy and bright
I'd wake up with a smile
and dream at night
But now that I can see
all the things that are wrong
It seems just a little harder
to keep moving along

I wish there was more
so much more I could do
And since you are here
I guess I'm starting with you
One by One
we can make a stand
And together we'll create
the real Promise Land
